Art Walk Fashionably South of 7th Street

For the first time ever, fashion will strut the streets of Downtown Art Walk with two blocks of the L.A. Fashion District joining the Art Walk festivities for the summer months of 2011. The two blocks, Los Angeles Street and 9^th Streets will have various art and food focused events with a fashion emphasis for the monthly affair. Some of the evening's highlights include a video installation and art exhibit in the Cooper Building lobby, a fashion show and tapas at Tiara Cafe, SA Gallery exhibit at Gram & Papa's and over ten other retail shops featuring local artists and retail opportunities.

Here is a listing of the events:

Along Los Angeles Street:

• The Cooper Building will host the CDS Gallery by Tim Yarger Fine Art presentation by Linda Toulby in their lobby (860)
• Thread, the curated showcase of the best emerging designers, will host a preview of their main show with men's and women's clothing and accessories for sale, DIY craft booths, local fashion and featured local artists (725).
• Ella Moss and Splendid will have a warehouse sale (715).
• Other retail stores that will feature art space are the Cooper Store (721), J. Valintin (723), New Warehouse (717), MartinMartin featuring the work of Just Loomis (713), Planet Most Wanted (822), Tutto Italy Connection (811), M2 by Morvati (818 & 820), and Giorgio Rossi Italian Men's Clothing (830).

Along 9th Street:

• Tiara Cafe (127 E. 9^th Street) legendary Chef Fred Eric will host a night of fresh food, fashion, and late night fun. They will serve a variety of seasonable small plate treats and a parking and beer package for $5 at their parking lot off 9^th and Main Streets. Additionally, guests will be treated to a special fashion show by Connected Showroom featuring As Is, a women's contemporary collection, and a sample sale featuring great deals on apparel from top designs. Food and drinks start at 6:00-11:00pm. Fashion show starts at 8:30pm
•  Gram and Papas will host the works of SA Gallery artists Mister Cartoon, Estevan Oriol, Patrick Martinez and David Choe starting at 8:30pm
